H. Graham Greene§
Henry Graham Greene was an English writer and journalist who wrote about two dozen novels, many of which were made into movies. His novels could loosely be categorized into two types: serious moral stories; and what he called entertainment stories. His serious novels sometimes pertained to Catholic issues and personalities.
Graham Greene is one of my favorite authors and has had a significant influence on my own writing. This includes writing both serious moral stories (e.g., The Loneliness of Lena) and entertaining ones (e.g., In Search of Kafka). This also includes sometimes writing about Catholic issues (e.g., The Pages of St. John).
Greene’s novels have been published by several publishing houses, I recommend the Vintage books or the Penguin Classics imprints. However, I’m replacing my copies with ones from Heineman.
